Spring Orientation: January 5-6, 2026
Towering Traditions Spring Orientation is designed for first-year and transfer undergraduate students enrolling at Belmont University for the start of the Spring semester. This mandatory orientation program for new students includes academic orientation, course registration, financial information, and other activities to help connect you to the Belmont community. Spring Orientation will take place on January 5-6, 2026. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join their students for the January 6th sessions. Registration for Spring Orientation will open on November 11, 2025.

To participate in early course registration, new students will need to:
STEP #1: Register for Spring Orientation: Starting November 11, students who have submitted their enrollment deposit will receive an email from the New Student Orientation Office with instructions on how to register for spring orientation. Follow these instructions and register for Spring Orientation.
STEP #2: Email Your Academic College: Once students have registered for Spring Orientation, students can email their Academic College inquiring about participating in the Early Course Registration opportunity. See below for the contact for each academic college.

For those students living on-campus, students will receive more information about move-in after housing assignments are made in early December. New students move into their residence halls as assigned by the Office of Residence Life in their move-in packets. Move-in will be held between 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, January 5, 2026. One of the great things about Belmont is it is located in the amazing city of Nashville! Start your morning off right by joining the Orientation Council as we go and grab breakfast in one of the great Nashville hot spots. This meal is on the house!

If you want to get a better feel for campus, join us on this student led campus tour. In this tour, we will make sure you feel comfortable navigating campus for your first day of classes.
TAKING CARE OF DETAILS
We know that the start of your semester is a busy time filled with last minute appointments and details. We’ve designed the orientation schedule so that you can visit on-campus offices as well as run important errands. At this time, the Orientation Council will be available to help point you in the right direction to take care of your last-minute needs.
All on-campus offices are open from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. today. Walk-in appointments are available at many offices you may wish to visit and these offices can assist you in answering questions you might have regarding your time at Belmont. We’ve created a list of suggested items that can help you get your academic year started:
- Visit Student Financial Services for any personal questions regarding your student account or tuition payment options.
- Visit Belmont Central to add Bruin Bucks to your student account.
- Stop by Campus Security to pick up your Belmont Student ID or submit for your parking pass.
- For any questions regarding transfer credits from previous institutions, visit the Office of the Registrar.
- Log into your MyBelmont account to make fine tune adjustments to your schedule or review it.
- Order your books online through Bruin Books.
- If needed, visit Counseling Services, Disability Services, or Health Services for assistance setting up continuation of care.
- Visit a local department or grocery store to get final supplies before classes start.
- Stop by The Bruin Shop to get your Bruin Gear.

Spring Orientation Checklist
We realize the "coming to college task list" can be daunting and confusing. There are so many to-do's and tasks it can be easy to be overwhelmed. Don't worry, we have you covered! Belmont's orientation checklist is your one-stop, everything you need in one place, master checklist to help you complete key tasks as you prepare for life at Belmont. At Belmont University your health and well-being are top priorities, and we want to ensure you have access to the care and resources you need as you begin your journey with us. As a future Bruin, you have two important next steps to complete. (Tip: There are two portals (Health Portal and UHC Portal) you will need to log into to complete your health-related action items. Make sure to complete both steps to avoid delays.)
Required Health Forms:
All students must complete four health requirements in Belmont's confidential online Health Portal (accessed with the student's MyBelmont username and password):
- Complete the Belmont Medical History form.
- Enter immunization dates.
- Upload copies of your immunization record and the completed consent form. If you are under the age of 18, this needs to be signed by a parent or guardian.
- Sign the "Student Consent for Treatment and Privacy Practices" form.

The Health Services Clinic will be open during New Student Orientation for consultations about completing the health forms as well as for immunization and health consultation appointments.
Student Health Insurance Plan Requirement:
All full-time, degree-seeking students are required to have healthcare coverage during their time at Belmont.
- Students with Insurance: Proof of coverage must be uploaded to the UHCSR Portal. Deadline information can be found HERE.
- Students without Insurance: Those without adequate coverage in Tennessee (or wherever they reside while enrolled) may enroll in the Belmont Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). SHIP provides comprehensive coverage, including emergency, preventative care, mental health, and prescription drug services. Students who do not provide proof of insurance by the final deadline will be automatically enrolled, and the charge will be added to their student bill.

Once you have officially been accepted to the University and paid your enrollment deposit, it’s time for you to complete your online housing application through your myBelmont account. It typically takes about 1-3 business days for the housing portal to populate in your MyBelmont once you've paid your deposit. Visit the Residence Life website for more information about housing. Reach out to reslife@belmont.edu if you have questions or concerns regarding the housing form.
To get you connected to meaningful communities, take five minutes and fill out Student Engagement Interest Form! We will use this information to send you information about getting involved during your first semester. We can't wait for you to experience all Belmont has to offer!
New students may view their major in their “Degree Works” after their enrollment confirmation/deposit has been processed by Enrollment Services. To access Degree Works, login to your "myBelmont" account, click the “Registration” drop down menu, and click “Degree Works (student)”. Make sure you allow pop-ups in your computer settings in order to open Degree Works. At the top of the new window, you should see your selected major. If you wish to change your major prior to Spring Orientation, contact your Admissions Counselor. Once you register for classes, you may access the change of major form on the Registrar’s website and follow the instructions provided. Students who are already enrolled in classes will send the change of major form to the Registrar’s office for processing.
You may find that you have a Policy Hold on your account when you log into myBelmont. To remove the hold, click on the link that says "Review policy and remove hold" which will take you to a page that contains the full policy. Read it and acknowledge that you have read and understand the policy. *NOTE: Your policy hold is NOT your advisor hold. Your advisor hold will be lifted on the day of your orientation session by your academic college or during early course registration.

Belmont Alerts is Belmont University’s emergency messaging system. You are able to sign up to receive text alerts and e-mails in the event of a campus closure or emergency. To register for alerts, log in to myBelmont and select "Belmont Alerts" from the Campus Security and Safety folder on the left side of the page. Once the Belmont Alerts page opens, use the “Contact Type” field to enter the cell phone numbers that you want to receive Belmont Alerts to. You are welcome to add family members to receive alerts as well. Once you’re finished, simply close the Belmont Alerts window.

Students who register for classes prior to Spring Orientation, make sure you pay your bills by January 7, 2026, to avoid late fees or withdrawal from Belmont. Students who register for classes during Spring Orientation will need to pay their bills by January 13, 2026. Needing more financial information? Once you have been officially accepted to the university and paid your enrollment deposit, you will want to make sure you are taking care of all the key financial processes and review the Financial Aid Checklist.
Students who may need academic, housing, or other accommodations for documented disabilities are encouraged to connect early with the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) to ensure timely support for a smooth transition to college.
To request accommodations:
- Visit the OAS website to review our FAQs and learn how college accommodations differ from high school IEPs and 504 plans.
- Review the Documentation Guidelines to ensure your materials meet OAS requirements.
- Complete the Accommodation Request Application using your MyBelmont credentials.
- Wait for follow-up communication. Once your application and documentation are reviewed, you’ll receive an email with either your eligibility letter and next steps or a request for more information.
Recommended submission dates:
- Housing accommodations: as soon as possible (requests submitted after October 15 are not guaranteed)
- Academic and other accommodations: by early December
