Orientation for Non-Degree Students

Welcome to Belmont! We know the choice to enroll here is no small decision, and we are excited that you have decided to join the Bruin community. As a non-degree seeking student, you are exempt from participating in Orientation. Our priority is your course registration and helping you navigate the logistical tasks necessary to ensure your successful start at Belmont.

For course registration, you will first need to verify that no pre-requisites are required for the class(es) in which you wish to enroll. The course description will tell you what is required, if anything. You can find the information on the university catalog. .

If no pre-requisites are required, you may register during open registration. The date and time of open registration can be found on the Registrar website for the term in which you are approved.

If the class you wish to take does require a pre-requisite, you will need to receive academic advising from the department in which you are wishing to take classes. You can find your deparment by searching for your program on the University program finder. Please email the department in order to schedule a time to discuss your academic courses. You will need to request an override from the department so they can make sure you are able to register.

You will also need to complete the following logistical tasks:

  1. Get your Belmont Student ID & Parking Pass: To complete both these tasks, visit Campus Security located in the Gabhart Building. Campus Security is open 24/7.
  2. Sign up for Belmont Alerts: Belmont Alerts is Belmont’s emergency messaging system. Click here to subscribe.
  3. Prepare for Course Registration: In order to prepare for Course Registration, preview the below videos:
