Belmont Hollywood
Belmont Hollywood is a summer internship opportunity where selected Motion Pictures, Media Production and Film & TV Writing juniors and seniors can apply classroom learning to specific career goals in the Motion Pictures industry.
Belmont Hollywood also serves as an immersion experience within the motion pictures industry. Interns gain practical skills in state-of-the-art technical facilities and are exposed to the expertise of renowned producers, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers & agents.
Program Curriculum
Required Courses:
- MOT 1170 Media Makers (3 credits) - Through numerous professional guest speakers, this course surveys countless positions within the film and television industry, the industry’s many supporting industries, and its varied distribution formats. Students learn to better prepare themselves to enter the industry, and exercise their abilities as Media Makers in multiple formats.
- MOT internship (1-3 credits)
Optional Courses:
- MOT 2895 Production II Prep (3 credits) - Students develop and write ten-page scripts, look books, budgets, and additional pitch and production materials to submit for a potential, competitive, studio-model production experience.
- Third Year Religion JCS/Path A or B (3 credits) - Online only
- Third Year Writing (3 credits) - Online only

Program Details
Belmont Hollywood allows you to have one or two Internships. It is ultimately your responsibility to secure the internship. However, there are many resources on campus to assist with that process including:

Are You Eligible to Apply?
In order to be eligible for study in Belmont Hollywood, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Motion Pictures, Media Production, or Film & TV Writing major
- Complete at least 64 credit hours and be of junior standing by the start of the program
- Be in good academic and financial standing at the time of application AND when the program starts
- Have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative institutional grade point average at time of application AND at start of program
- Students on academic or disciplinary probation cannot participate in Belmont Hollywood, even if such probation occurs after acceptance to the program
- Students who become ineligible after acceptance for any of the above reasons MUST pay the program fee balance
Selection Process
- Academic performance, professional experience, maturity and overall preparedness for the program are considered in the selection process.
- Students not meeting minimum qualifications and/or with prior academic or non-academic infractions may be eliminated from the application pool.

Housing
You will be housed in double occupancy rooms at AVA Toluca Hills in Los Angeles which is located less than 4 miles from Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Disney Animation, and other major studios.
You can expect to be placed in furnished apartment living that includes a living area, dining area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms with 2 people in each room, and a private bathroom attached to each bedroom. Apartments are fully furnished (bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, etc) and laundry facilities are onsite.
Enjoy loads of amenities such as workout facilities, onsite retail and a swimming pool.
Transportation
In LA, you are required to have access to a car for daily transportation. You may bring your own, ship your car or rent a car.
Belmont Hollywood Program Staff
Belmont Hollywood is administered by staff in both Nashville and Los Angeles. In Nashville, the Belmont USA Assistant Director manages the application and pre-departure processes and communicates with all students prior to their arrival in Hollywood. In Hollywood, the Belmont Los Angeles Onsite Manager coordinates move-in and mentors you through your internship experience.
