Our Community Engagement Team
The Community Engagement Team serves as the bridge between campus security and the Belmont community. Led by the Events & Programming Captain, the team focuses on building trust, increasing safety awareness and making security more visible and approachable across campus.
Through programming, partnerships and everyday interaction, the team works to promote a culture of shared responsibility, where safety is something the whole community participates in.
Meet Tunes & Doe
Tunes, a German Shepherd mix, and Doe, a Chihuahua mix, are Belmont's official therapy dogs — trained to provide comfort, stress relief and a little joy to students, faculty and staff. Whether you catch them on a campus stroll or book a visit, they're always happy to meet you.
Partnerships
OCS maintains active relationships with local, regional and national partners to keep our practices current and our community connected.
We meet monthly with local law enforcement agencies and other Middle Tennessee universities through the Crime Stoppers organization, and hold regular meetings with Metro Nashville Police at the Midtown Precinct to address emerging issues in and around campus. Our leadership holds memberships in the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police. We also collaborate with Vanderbilt University's K-9 program on events and programming centered around Tunes and Doe.
