National honors highlight Belmont’s ongoing commitment to supporting military-connected students and families

Belmont University has been recognized for its commitment to serving military-connected students, earning a Military Friendly® Gold designation for the 2026–2027 academic year and being named a Top Yellow Ribbon School by U.S. Veterans Magazine.

Together, these honors underscore Belmont’s dedication to supporting military-connected students, including veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, ROTC members, military spouses and dependents, as they pursue their educational and career goals.

In addition, Belmont’s designation as a Top Yellow Ribbon School is part of U.S. Veterans Magazine’s annual “Best of the Best” program, which evaluates colleges and universities nationwide on criteria including GI Bill support, veteran-focused resources, academic flexibility and career outcomes. Honorees are selected through a combination of institutional data submissions and independent editorial research.

“These recognitions affirm our University's longstanding commitment to those who have served our nation,” said Belmont President Greg Jones. “We are proud to provide an environment where military-connected students can pursue their educational goals, develop professionally and find a strong sense of community. Their experiences and leadership strengthen our institution in countless ways.”

For Belmont’s Office of Adult Degree Programs & Veteran Success, the recognitions reflect a year-round commitment to connecting students with the resources they need to thrive.

Belmont continues to invest in programs and services designed to support students from enrollment through graduation and beyond. Through the Bruin Vets Center, students have access to a dedicated space for connection, engagement and community building, while the Veteran Success Team provides programming throughout the year that promotes academic achievement, leadership development and peer support.

“Veterans and military family members bring extraordinary dedication and resilience to our campus community,” Powell said. “Our goal is to build on those strengths by providing a welcoming and supportive environment where they can achieve their educational aspirations and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.”

U.S. Veterans Magazine publishes its recognition lists across print, digital and online platforms, helping veterans and transitioning service members identify institutions that meaningfully support their success. Belmont’s inclusion further affirms its reputation as a university that goes beyond the basics in serving those connected to military service.
