Construction Updates
Belmont University’s newest residence hall, set to open in Fall 2025, will feature a dedicated eSports space designed to enhance student life and build community. With more than 20 high-performance PC gaming stations and a spacious TV lounge for console gaming, the space will offer opportunities for students to compete, collaborate, and unwind. Whether engaging in tournaments, casual play, or simply relaxing with friends, the eSports area will be a vibrant hub where students can connect through shared interests and experiences.
Sorry for the lack of updates but there has not been any progress on the room itself, because it will be a quick build out, but the majority of work has been centered around everything else.
- Furniture has been selected for the console gaming side of the space and we think students will love it. Using student feedback, selections were made that prioritized functionality and comfort.
- Gaming chairs are in production and each one will have the eSports logo stitched into the headrest portion of the chair.
- Wall graphics have been chosen for two of the walls, the biggest being the wall you will see when you walk in and what will be the backdrop for the competition stage. We wanted to use Belmont colors, logos, and text.
Updates will be coming pretty frequently moving forward because work is being done daily on the space and decisions have been made about technology and furniture.
First thing we wanted to do is to show you the design for the shoutcasting station which will double as our check-in desk when it is not being used during a competition. Spectrum Industries did a great job designing this and can't wait to see it in the space.
We will provide updates on the PC that we chose and the venue management software vendor we have partnered with. Exciting things to come for the eSports community at Belmont!
Things are really cranking up in the eSports space as the walls have been drywalled, ceiling tiles are nearly finished, LED light strips on the wall and ceiling around the competition stage have been installed, speakers are being wired into the ceiling and the raised floor has begun being installed.
This week has been productive with the installation of the raised flooring and the initial stages of cable routing throughout the studio. The raised floor offers a significant advantage by eliminating the need for exposed cords and cables across the facility. All wiring will be neatly organized beneath the floor, with access to power and network connections provided through flush-mounted floor boxes. This setup not only enhances the room’s aesthetics by maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance but also allows for a seamless transition between casual play and competitive setups.
