Together at Belmont: Parent & Family Weekend

Parent & Family weekend is a fun-filled, family event designed to provide key connections and experiences for Belmont families.

From athletic events to concerts, student life presentations and exploring the great city of Nashville, Parent & Family Weekend provides the perfect weekend for family members to experience life at Belmont.

Save the date! Parent & Family Weekend will be taking place on September 26 & 27, 2025.

Parent & Family Weekend events will take place starting at noon on Friday, September 26 and continue throughout Saturday, September 27. 

Registration for Parent & Family Weekend will open in Fall 2025.  The schedule of events will be updated here before Fall 2025, but until then, check out the below schedule from Parent & Family Weekend 2024.

Who doesn’t like an updated family photo? Get your Family Photo taken by Belmont’s Professional Photography Team for free! Located outside of the alumni house, stop by and get your photo taken for free. We will give you access to the link to your photo to print or share.

PARENT SESSION: Making the Most of Your Student’s Study Abroad Experience  

Parents play such an important part in helping a student determine when, where and how to study abroad. Come meet with the Office of Study Abroad to learn more about Belmont’s study abroad offerings, the study abroad application process and how to support your child throughout their study abroad experience.   

PARENT SESSION: Help Your Student Achieve their Career Plans  

This session will be focused on how parents can help their children navigate their career plans. Parents will receive an overview of career development at Belmont, meet some members of the Career Development Team and learn how they can support their college student.     

PARENT SESSION: Helping your Student Succeed & Flourish at Belmont   

Student Success research and the Belmont experience show that when our students/families know of available resources and how to access those resources, success comes at a much higher rate.  Belmont’s Division of Student Success & Flourishing is comprised of multiple success/support offices with a variety of resources for the students.  Those resources are designed to advance student experiences in and out of the classroom. Please join David Sneed, Director of GPS and member of the Student Success and Flourishing Team, as you discover ways we can join to support your student and hear more about opportunities designed to help students flourish at Belmont University.    

LIVE ON THE LAWN | 3:00 – 4:30 pm

A weekend at Belmont is just not complete without live music! Come enjoy some of Belmont’s finest at Live on the Lawn- an event featuring student performers. This is the perfect opportunity to experience a true Belmont experience with your family and friends. Recommendation: Stop by the Jack C. Massey Center and grab some gelato or coffee before heading to the lawn! Live on the Lawn is brought to you by two student organizations: Music Row Promo & Women in Audio 

HUMANITIES SYMPOSIUM PRESENTATION  

Presentation starts at 4pm | Ayers C & D located on the 4th Floor  

Join us on Friday afternoon for the final session of the 24th Annual Humanities Symposium. This year’s theme, “Neighbors,” is organized around Mister Rogers’s timely question: “Won’t you be my neighbor?” Our closing event features CEO of The Nashville Food Project Dr. C.J Sentell and will explore the connection between hunger, access to food, and what it means to be a neighbor.

Romeo and Juliet | Belmont’s Department of Theatre and Dance Production
7:30 pm | Troutt Theater | Tickets required

Join Belmont's Department of Theatre & Dance for one of the most famous works in all of literature. Romeo and Juliet tells the story of two impulsive young lovers who marry in an attempt to unite their feuding families. Tragically, they are beset with untold obstacles that prevent their happiness and result in their deaths. This production, set in 1948, highlights those complications as their end draws to its fateful conclusion. Tickets are required and can be purchased at the Box Office or at this link.

Self-guided walk beginning at the Christ Rising Statue on the south side of the Main Lawn

Families are invited to participate in a prayer walk to pray for your student’s time at Belmont. This will be self-guided and at your own leisure, with prompts at various campus stations. 

PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS & FEATURED KEYNOTE WITH DR. HENRY CLOUD

Join us for a special Welcome and Address from Belmont President, Dr. Greg Jones followed by a powerful and inspiring keynote event featuring renowned leadership expert, best-selling author, and clinical psychologist and Belmont parent, Dr. Henry Cloud. With decades of experience helping people grow personally and professionally, Dr. Cloud will share timely and practical insights on one of life’s most meaningful transitions: the evolving relationship between parents and their college-aged children. (Students will receive Well Core credit for attending.)

The Gallery of Iconic Guitars (GIG) at Belmont is Music City’s premier venue designed to celebrate some of the rarest and iconic guitars and stringed instruments ever known. The GIG features an intimate experience for visitors to view these prized instruments up-close, along with historically and technically in-depth information on each. It is our hope that these magnificent instruments and their stories serve to inspire legions of music enthusiasts from all generations.

HOUSE OF provides the Nashville community with a curated one-stop shop for all things women's fashion. The store opened in April 2016 and employs 15 students from a variety of majors who actively learn about brand management, marketing, sales, and supply chain management. The store works closely with local designers and student entrepreneurs, fostering a vibrant and collaborative fashion ecosystem in the heart of Nashville.

Bruin Bodega
BRUIN BODEGA is a vibrant campus market spotlighting alumni-founded food brands and serving as a launchpad for Belmont student entrepreneurs to debut their own CPG products. In partnership with Conexion Américas’ Mesa Komal kitchen, we also feature collaborations with local chefs to bring fresh, culturally diverse flavors to our shelves. Neighbors | Artists in Residence at Arcade Arts  

The inaugural group of Artists in Residence at Arcade Arts exemplifies the spirit of neighborliness in a rapidly evolving city—sharing physical space, creative energy, and a collective commitment to fostering a vibrant arts culture. Ranging in age, background, and experience, this group has spent nine months working side-by-side in studios within the historic Nashville Arcade. Their diverse perspectives converge to reflect not only individual growth but also the profound influence of collaboration, shared critique, and community engagement. Neighbors offers a compelling view into how artists shape and are shaped by one another, emphasizing the impact of creative community across all stages of artistic development.

A Selection from the Watkins Student Legacy Collection 

This display showcases a dynamic range of artwork created by students over the past 35 years. These pieces reflect the talent, dedication, and creative growth of those who have shaped our programs through the decades. Since the 2020 merger with Belmont University, the collection also serves as a testament to the shared identity and vision of our unified artistic community.

The Frederick Hart Collection is not only a permanent museum and repository of sculptor Frederick Hart’s work located on Belmont University’s campus, but it is also a recreation of Hart’s home studio in Hume, Virginia. The Studio Museum offers an extensive presentation on Hart’s innovative use of clear acrylic resin, the medium Hart pioneered to cast figurative forms which he described as “sculpting with light,” in addition to multiple mediums from early maquettes to completed works by Hart. The Hart Studio Museum is the largest permanent collection of Hart’s work available for public viewing.
