Standardized Patient/ Participant Program

Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation

Welcome to the SP Program at Belmont University!

inline-sp-program.jpgOur standardized patient/participant (SP) program is an essential component of our learners' health sciences education, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience in clinical settings. We employ individuals trained to portray patients with specific medical conditions or scenarios, ensuring consistency and reliability in assessments. Through interactions with SPs, learners develop crucial skills in communication, diagnosis, and empathy, all within a controlled and supportive environment. This experiential learning method allows students to practice clinical skills, receive feedback, and refine their approaches to patient care without risking patient safety. Ultimately, SP programs bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing future healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, competent, and patient-centered care.

Please apply here if you are interested in becoming an SP in the Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation.
