Belmont students joined Nashville's inaugural Dolly Day celebration Sept. 25-26, sharing the music and legacy of Dolly Parton with community members gathered on 12th South.
Held in honor of Nashville’s inaugural “Dolly Day,” Coopers 12 South’s hosted its Jockey Caring for Good event, Sept. 25 and 26, and invited Belmont students to join in to celebrate the life and legacy of Dolly Parton.
A collaboration between Jockey and country music star Luke Bryan, Coopers is a place to gather and shop that immerses community members in Nashville’s music culture, Luke Bryan’s love of the outdoors and the craftsmanship of Jockey.
Belmont students Kai North, Clara Wilson and McKayla Mae Prew performed some of Parton’s legendary hits, helping commemorate the newly designated day honoring the iconic entertainer, philanthropist and cultural figure.
The celebration brought together local residents, visitors and community partners to recognize Parton's lasting impact on Nashville and beyond through music, creativity and generosity.
“It was such a pleasure to gather in honor of Dolly Day, to celebrate her creativity, generosity and light with our students, the Jockey and Coopers teams and the greater Nashville community,” said Belmont President Greg Jones. “We are honored to partner with our neighbors in 12th South to remember Dolly’s extraordinary life and legacy.”
