Belmont Recognized by Music School Finder as a 2027 Standout in Three Music Categories

Recognition highlights Belmont's collaborative music ecosystem and industry-connected learning opportunities in Nashville

Belmont has been recognized by Music School Finder as a 2027 Standout in three categories: Music Business & Industry, Popular & Commercial Music and Songwriting. 

Belmont was the only institution recognized across all three categories, highlighting the University's breadth of offerings for students pursuing careers as performers, songwriters and music industry professionals.  

Standout recognitions are awarded to a select group of institutions whose programs align with Music School Finder's published criteria, including dedicated undergraduate pathways, applied learning opportunities, industry engagement and career-focused preparation. The resource features 269 top U.S. college music programs and helps prospective students and families explore programs based on musical interests, career goals and educational fit.  

The recognition reflects the combined strengths of Belmont's College of Music & Performing Arts and Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business. Together, the colleges offer students opportunities to develop artistic, creative and professional skills while learning alongside peers from across the music ecosystem and engaging directly with Nashville's vibrant music community.

• Popular & Commercial Music, recognizing programs that combine contemporary performance training with meaningful opportunities for artistic development and professional preparation; 

• Music Business & Industry, recognizing programs that connect industry knowledge with internships, professional networks and career-facing experiences; and 

• Songwriting, recognizing programs that provide structured opportunities for students to develop their craft, build portfolios and collaborate with fellow artists.
