BDAIC Launches New Campuswide AI Committees

February 26, 2026 | by Sue Maszaros, Ed.D.

Belmont University’s Data & AI Collaborative (BDAIC) is launching two new committees designed to shape how the campus community learns, works, and innovates with artificial intelligence. Guided by the theme “Embrace & Experiment,” the initiative aims to move the university from AI theory to practical, responsible application.

Bruin AI Den Repository & Sentinels Program Committee

This committee will lead efforts to democratize AI access across campus by developing a dynamic repository of tool reviews, tutorials, and real‑world use cases. Members will also launch the BDAIC Sentinels Program, a cross‑disciplinary faculty mentor network that creates case studies and delivers college‑level AI workshops. Work will happen in rapid cycles, with practical resources—such as “AI Tool Deep Dives”—published every two weeks.

BDAIC AI Proficiency Pathway Committee

A second committee will define and validate AI skill development for faculty and staff based on Belmont’s DEC framework. The group is designing a five‑level proficiency pathway, ranging from foundational awareness to advanced strategy. Each level will include assessments, curated resources, and formal BDAIC certification. The pathway will be piloted in the College of Business before expanding university‑wide.

Faculty and staff from all disciplines are invited to participate. Members will contribute to visible, high‑impact deliverables every two weeks and collaborate with creative peers shaping the future of AI learning at Belmont.
