Belmont’s 2025–26 Performance Season to Showcase the Transformative Power of the Arts

College of Music & Performing Arts invites audiences to Experience Transformation through theatre, music and dance

From timeless tales like Romeo and Juliet to new musical stagings and a globally streamed holiday tradition, Belmont University’s 2025–26 performance season invites audiences to witness the power of the performing arts to shape, inspire and transform.

This year, Belmont’s College of Music & Performing Arts will present a full season of performances that explore what it means to change, grow and see the world in new ways. Under the theme “Experience Transformation,” the season will feature a wide range of theatrical and musical works — from reimagined classics to contemporary premieres – brought to life by Belmont’s exceptional students and faculty.

“This year’s performance season invites our audiences into stories that stretch the heart, stir the imagination and spark meaningful change. From the haunting truths of 1984 to the timeless romance of Romeo and Juliet, each production offers a chance to witness the transformative power of theatre — not just in the characters on stage, but in ourselves as we engage with their journeys,” said Associate Professor of Theatre and Chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance Brent Maddox. “As our students bring these productions to life, they themselves are transformed — growing not only as performers, but as storytellers who help us all see the world, and each other, more clearly.”

The season also builds on current campus momentum. The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts continues hosting large-scale productions, including a staging of 9 to 5: The Musical — a nod to the on-campus run of Dolly Parton’s newest musical this fall. Christmas at Belmont will again bring cheer and carry on a longstanding tradition as audiences celebrate the holiday season.
