Belmont University President Greg Jones Among 2023 Most Admired CEOs by Nashville Business Journal

November 2, 2023 | by Allison Fomby

Belmont University President Dr. Greg Jones was recently named a 2023 Power 100: Industry Giant and a NBJ 2023 Most Admired CEO by the Nashville Business Journal (NBJ).

Power 100 is an assessment based on NBJ’s reporting and expertise covering the region's high-powered business community to know who's driving decisions, both in the headlines and behind the scenes — with a focus on those with the greatest influence on Nashville’s businesses, workforce and economy. According to NBJ, these are the executives leading the most powerful companies in town, for their high-profile reputations or top-of-the-market success.

The list highlighted Jones’ push for innovation since his appointment in 2021. NBJ noted, “Belmont has announced multiple major investment projects over the past few years. Under Jones’ leadership, the educational institution continues to evolve and expand its presence in the region.”

To assemble its list of Most Admired CEOs, the Nashville Business Journal accepted nominations from the public. Nominees were grouped into categories based on their company size and type, and then were asked to vote. Those with the highest voting scores were selected as this year’s honorees.

“I am humbled to be included on NBJ’s 2023 Power 100 Industry Giants list. Moving to Nashville two years ago, the Belmont community and the city of Nashville welcomed my wife Susan and me with open arms,” said Jones. “I look forward to the days ahead being filled with continued growth and development for Belmont University and deepened relationships in the Nashville business community.”

A celebrated speaker, author, educator and business leader, Dr. Jones believes in supporting communities through hope-inspired leadership and instilling a sense of purpose and entrepreneurial mindset in the next generation. He is dedicated to collaborative bridge-building across diverse perspectives and seeks to leverage his work as a University President to form leaders of character who are committed to helping people and communities flourish.

The Most Admired CEOs award ceremony will be held Dec. 7 at Four Seasons Nashville.
