Return to Campus Plan

Defending Our Den

Belmont University’s Spring 2021 Return to Campus Plan

With new guidelines in place and a more unusual semester than any other, the Belmont community proved in the Fall 2020 semester that with diligence, commitment, a few sacrifices and a lot of hard work, it was possible to manage the presence of COVID on our campus. Our strategies included implementation of a HyFlex academic model, a mandatory mask mandate everywhere on campus, online meetings for employees and student organizations, a daily symptom tracker maintained by our Health Services team and the transition of the majority of our events to virtual formats, among others. Our Belmont community, as expected, rose to the challenge and maintained our campus as one of the “safest small towns” in the country.

Recognizing our students' desire to re-engage as fully as possible in the complete Belmont experience, our faculty, staff and administrators have continued to work diligently toward making it possible for students to return safely to campus for the Spring 2021 semester. Our approach has been informed by consultations with leading healthcare experts in our region. While this website reflects our current plans, think of it as an ongoing, adjustable playbook—one that will allow us to regain as much normalcy as possible while also doing our part to limit the spread and impact of COVID-19. As data indicates, we will be nimble to respond.
