Biography
Dr. Shruti Yarra, MD, is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with diverse clinical experience in both the U.S. and India. She currently practices at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, where she has played a key role in revitalizing the OB-GYN program to better serve an underserved community. Previously, she was on the faculty at the University of Kentucky and practiced at Bowling Green Medical Center.
Dr. Yarra completed her residency at Flushing Hospital in New York and has special interests in high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, and culturally sensitive care. She has also published research on maternal health and COVID-19 outcomes.
Fluent in five languages and trained in classical Indian music, Dr. Yarra enjoys spending time with her husband and newborn. She is excited to call Nashville her home and to join the Belmont School of Medicine.
