Dr. Gentry began teaching at Belmont in 2024 as adjunct faculty, focusing on courses in sports medicine, strength & conditioning, and wellness. He joined the Department of Exercise Science as a Lecturer in Fall of 2026. He is a licensed physical therapist and continues to practice in a sports PT company called Be Ready Performance Therapy, where he is a co-owner.
Dr. Gentry received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Belmont's School of Physical Therapy in 2019 and received a B.S. Ed. in Health Sciences from Baylor University in Waco, TX in 2013.
He works with athletes at all levels, including athletes from most of Nashville's major sports franchises and colleges. He has particular specialty in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and consults regularly for athletes in the arenas of weightlifting, CrossFit, and triathlon.
