Biography
Rania Awadalla, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at the O’More College of Architecture & Design at Belmont University. A designer, educator, and researcher, she operates on the belief that exceptional spaces do more than look beautiful they listen, respond, and leave a lasting imprint on the human experience.
Dr. Awadalla’s work exists at the intersection of neuroscience and spatial design. Her research focuses on neuroarchitecture, exploring how fractal geometry nature’s inherent visual language can be woven into built environments to actively elevate cognitive well-being. Her multifaceted scholarship also spans sustainable design, the adaptive reuse of historic structures, and immersive design technologies.
Grounded in a rich foundation of sculptural architecture and exhibition design, she earned both her MFA and Ph.D. in Interior Architecture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University. Prior to her tenure at Belmont, she served as an Associate Professor of Interior Architecture and International Relations Coordinator at Pharos University in Egypt.
