Piao Wang

Biography

Piao Wang serves as Assistant Director of Research and Grant Strategy in the Gordon E. Inman College of Nursing, where she leads research development and funding strategy through the Center for Nursing Innovation. Her work includes developing grant proposals for state, federal, and foundation funding opportunities, managing funded projects, and cultivating research pathways for faculty and students. She also conducts research on scholarship cohort outcomes, student affordability, and nursing student success, developing data sets and analyses that inform program evaluation and institutional planning. Her scholarship examines stress and self-regulation in clinical education settings, with a focus on stress dynamics and the conditions that support student and workforce well-being. Recent work appears in Advances in Health Sciences Education and BMJ Open, and she serves as a peer reviewer for several health sciences journals. Wang holds a Master of Music in Neurologic Music Therapy from the University of Miami and previously practiced as a neurologic music therapist at the University of Miami Health System.
