Peter Rogahn
Biography
Peter Rogahn is an Instructor of Organ at Belmont University. He holds the Doctor of Music degree in Organ Performance and Literature with minors in Music Theory and Choral Conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He also earned a Performer Diploma and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, as well as a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.
He currently serves as the Associate Organist and Choirmaster at Christ Church Cathedral in
Nashville. Previous appointments include Organist and Assistant Director of Music at First
Presbyterian Church of Nashville and Precentor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. His teaching experience spans music theory, piano, and choir in both secondary and collegiate settings, reflecting a longstanding commitment to music education.
As an active recitalist and collaborative pianist, Peter has presented solo organ recitals and performed with school and community choirs throughout the United States.
In addition to his work at Belmont, Peter teaches organ at Lipscomb University. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and has served in several leadership roles including Dean of the Nashville AGO Chapter.
