Matthew Loyd

Biography

Mathew Loyd joined the Belmont community in November 2024. He joined the Belmont HR team, working primarily with new Adjuncts and Belmont’s Summer Camp Workers, before transferring to the Provost Office in the Fall of 2025. He received his Bachelor of Arts in history from George Fox University, where the desire to work in Christ-centered university was first planted. He and his wife moved their family from Oregon to Tennessee in 2022 to establish a new home, and they have loved Tennessee ever since (it’s quite a story, which he enjoys telling anyone who asks!).

Mathew brings 10 years of Human Resources experience and a love of serving others rooted in his Christian faith. Whether in his first HR roles at a nonprofit assisting the homeless, or on a Talent Acquisition team at a healthcare tech startup, he would summarize his career focus thus far as simply trying to serve anyone he can and bringing order to chaos. (His two kids contribute to the latter aspect quite efficiently on a daily basis, too, and he loves them all the more for it!)
