Matt Webb
Biography
Matthew Webb is a conductor and sacred music scholar living in Nashville, TN. He is currently the Director of Music Ministries at Belmont United Methodist Church, where he oversees a choral and handbell program for children, youth, and adults. While serving as the Director of Music at the Presbyterian Church in Morristown, NJ, he was concurrently the Director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Drew University. Equally comfortable in the world of musical theatre, Webb was the Music Director of the Musical Theatre program at Elon University. He has served as a contributor for the Call to Worship journal of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and has presented at conferences for the Presbyterian Association of Musicians and Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church. Webb completed the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in conducting as a student of Welborn Young at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has undergraduate degrees in philosophy and piano performance from Wake Forest University. He pursued postdoctoral studies with James Whitbourn at the University of Oxford and studied conducting in New York City with Dennis Keene.
