Maren Bishop

Biography

For Maren, student success begins with connection. With more than 20 years at Belmont University, she has dedicated her career to creating systems that help students feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.  

Since joining Belmont’s Student Care & Support team in 2018, Maren has helped transform the university’s approach to student care. She established a collaborative case management team, streamlined support processes to reduce barriers to care, developed new resources, and built strong partnerships across campus and throughout the community to ensure students receive compassionate, seamless support. 

Maren’s broad experience across student support, enrollment management, academic advising, and campus operations gives her a unique perspective on how Belmont can care for students in thoughtful and effective ways. Her background includes developing enrollment strategies for Belmont’s prestigious nursing and music programs, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to strengthen student support initiatives, and improving procedures to respond to the evolving needs of students more effectively. 

In recognition of her service to the Belmont community, Maren received Belmont’s highest staff honor, the Gabhart Award for Staff Excellence and Service, in 2022. 

A proud Nashville native, Maren holds a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership and Communication from Belmont University and a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University.
