Biography
Dr. Manoj Govindarajulu earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru, India, and completed his Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology at the Department of Drug Discovery and Development, Harrison College of Pharmacy, Auburn University.
He completed postdoctoral training in the blast-induced neurotrauma department at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he examined the effects of blast exposure on the brain using both preclinical models and studies involving military personnel. Dr. Govindarajulu’s research focuses on the physiological and molecular mechanisms underlying aging, cognition, and neurodegenerative diseases, with particular emphasis on immune and inflammatory processes that contribute to neurological dysfunction.
Dr. Govindarajulu has taught pharmacology, pathophysiology, neuroscience, and research methodology to medical, pharmacy, and undergraduate students, and is committed to integrating foundational science with clinical relevance in medical education. He has authored several peer‑reviewed scientific publications in the areas of pharmacology and neurological disorders.
Outside of academia, Dr. Govindarajulu enjoys swimming, hiking, and playing cricket, and is an avid follower of professional football.
