Biography

Krystal Huesmann began her nursing career in 1987 after earning her ADN from Grace College School of Nursing, where her father was a Chemistry professor. While working as a Registered Nurse at The Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Krystal went back to school, obtaining her BSN from The Ohio State University in 1991.  Krystal has specialized training as a Pre-Travel Nurse Consultant and has worked in clinical and administrative roles in various settings including pediatrics, family practice, home health care and case management. She also has worked as a marketing representative and nurse manager.   

Krystal has worked in Belmont University Health Services since 2006. She is dedicated to college health and wellness and is a member of the American College Health Association (ACHA) and the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM.) Krystal enjoys precepting Nursing students and speaking to groups of students about Travel Health. 

Krystal lives in Franklin with her husband, Matt, who is a media producer including music, photography, and video production. They have three children who are past and present Belmont students. Krystal enjoys entertaining, gardening, cooking, traveling and being involved in her church.
