Biography

Dr. Kristy Wahaib joined the Belmont faculty during the summer of 2010. She is a graduate of Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following graduation Dr. Wahaib completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri as well as an ASHP-accredited Specialty Residency in Internal Medicine with University Medical Center Brackenridge and The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She served in several roles with The University of Texas College of Pharmacy, including co-precepting students on Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences, serving as facilitator for weekly Pharmacotherapy Lab and guest lecturing. Dr. Wahaib became a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS) in 2012.

As Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Wahaib teaches courses related to clinical science, such as Pathophysiology and Therapeutics and Therapeutic Case Studies. Additionally, she offers an elective course in Cardiology each spring semester. Dr. Wahaib’s practice focus is Internal Medicine, with a strong interest in Cardiology and Infectious Diseases. She has established a practice site at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she rounds with the Internal Medicine service and provides direct patient care on a daily basis. Her practice site serves as an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience site for student pharmacists in their fourth year of the pharmacy curriculum.
