Biography
Katie Mitchell serves as the Director of Galleries and Programming at Watkins College of Art, where she has been a member of the team since 2014. She holds a BFA in Studio Art from Belmont University and an MFA in Painting and Sculpture from the University of South Carolina.
Katie's creative and academic pursuits have taken her to a range of locations, including the Pacific Northwest, the Dutch Caribbean, and Italy. Most recently, she was selected to participate in the Contemporary Chinese Art Institute’s summer program, an immersive experience that brought her to Beijing and Xi’an to visit museums and art academies, collaborate with Chinese artists, and explore opportunities for cross-cultural exchange.
She is a member of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries (AAMG) and has been active in the organization since 2019.
