Biography

Katherine earned a Bachelor of Art in Design and a Master of Architecture from Clemson University. She is a licensed architect with over 35 years of professional experience. Her roles within the industry have included design architect, planner, project manager, code and accessibility consultant, and author. While maintaining her professional involvement, she has taught as an adjunct in several local design programs for over 30 years which continues in her full-time position at Belmont. As an instructor, she strives to integrate the theoretical and the practical into students’ understanding of architecture – encouraging students to consider architecture as more than discrete buildings but as components of a healthy, responsible, and inspiring community. She is actively involved in the Americans Institute of Architects-Middle Tennessee (AIA mdTN) and AEC Power Women (Nashville).
