Biography
Jill Jelnick is an award-winning sports reporter, producer, and anchor with over 10 years of TV Broadcasting experience. She is a two-time Emmy® Award winner, a two-time Edward R. Murrow Award winner, and a four-time Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year finalist, as named by the National Sports Media Association. She is also a member of the NATAS Nashville/Midsouth Emmys® Board of Directors.
Jelnick is currently a full-time lecturer at Belmont University, where she teaches several courses in the journalism program. She also works as a play-by-play broadcaster for several teams and networks throughout the region.
She served most recently as the Sports Director at FOX 17 WZTV in Nashville, where she was a one-woman sports department for over five years. She produced, edited, and anchored daily sportscasts, while hosting the award-winning high school football show “Football Frenzy Live” and the station’s podcast, “Nashville Game Changers.” Before Nashville, Jelnick made stops at KCWX in San Antonio, TX, and WRCB in Chattanooga, TN as a sports anchor and reporter.
A proud graduate of East Carolina University, softball brought Jelnick from her hometown of Aliso Viejo, CA, to Greenville, NC. Jelnick was a member of the ECU Softball team, where she was named an Academic All-American and, with her teammates, was crowned CUSA Tournament Champions in 2011.
