Biography
A two-time Belmont graduate (B.A. Entertainment Industry Studies ’14, M.A. Mental Health Counseling ’24), Jenny Lokey has spent her career working at the intersection of the entertainment industry, higher education, and mental health. She began her professional journey at Capitol Christian Music Group during her final semester of college, gaining experience in radio promotion and marketing before returning to Belmont as Student Enrichment Coordinator for the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business. In that role, she led the planning of more than 75 annual programs designed to support students’ education and professional development, including launching the Mental Health in Entertainment seminar series in partnership with Porter’s Call.Jenny most recently worked as a Transformational Project Strategist in the Office of the President, where she helped advance several university-wide initiatives, including The Fisher Center, Creative Arts Collective, Hope Summit, and the Center for Mental Health in Entertainment. She also served as project lead for Dolly U, a one-of-a-kind academic partnership between Dolly Parton, CTK Enterprises, and Belmont University.
Alongside her work in higher education, Jenny earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and previously practiced part-time as a provisionally licensed therapist at Cypress Counseling Group in Brentwood. Drawing on more than a decade of experience across higher education, the music industry, and counseling, she is passionate about creating spaces that support the wellbeing of the whole person—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Originally from Massachusetts, Jenny has called Nashville home for more than 15 years. She is married to her best friend Brooks, a Nashville native and therapist who serves musicians and athletes, and they are the proud (and tired) parents of a baby girl they welcomed late last year. In her free time, Jenny enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking classes at Orangetheory Fitness, and cheering on the New England Patriots.
