His performances have been heard on NPR affiliates, K-Pop recordings, and other popular-media projects, with appearances including Carnegie Hall in New York, Théâtre de Nesle in Paris, and Steigenberger Hall in Alexandria, Egypt.
A Fulbright Specialist through 2027, Terry works at the intersection of music, education, cultural exchange, and international engagement. His piano technology initiatives have included training and consultation in Tunisia and Singapore, including work with piano technicians with visual impairments. In 2025, he was selected for a fellowship with Yamaha’s piano technical training program. Previously, as a 2024 Fulbright Scholar and Artist-in-Residence at the Cairo Conservatoire, he taught, performed, and explored musical exchange between American repertoire and Arabic traditions. He also maintains a longstanding relationship with Interlochen Center for the Arts and continues as a piano instructor and curriculum developer for Interlochen Online.
Terry serves as Executive Director of Arts in Motion, a nonprofit supporting arts education, international exchange, and community-based initiatives. In this role, he was recently invited for artist-teacher engagements in Syria and Iraq in 2026 and is planning a similar engagement in Mexico City in 2027.
His co-authored book, One Last Note, written with pianist David Cartledge and published by Bloomsbury, will be released March 1, 2027. Terry also collaborates with healthcare professionals on resources addressing performance-related musculoskeletal disorders among keyboard musicians and will present this work at the 2027 MTNA National Conference.
Terry joined Belmont University’s College of Music & Performing Arts in 2024, where his work combines teaching piano, educational innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His previous appointments include tenured Associate Professor of Piano and Director of Keyboard Studies at Samford University and Assistant Professor of Music at Bradley University.
