Claire Buchanan

Biography

Claire returned to the Belmont University community in 2026 as the Coordinator for Student Engagement in the Office of Student Engagement. As a Belmont alumna, she values the opportunity to serve a community that played an important role in shaping her own college experience. Claire is passionate about creating spaces where students feel seen, heard, and valued while helping them connect, grow, and develop as leaders. With a background in student engagement, youth development, and social work, she is especially interested in fostering belonging and helping students thrive throughout their college experience.

Claire holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor’s degree in Music from Belmont University. Her background in music and social work has shaped her approach to student engagement, emphasizing the importance of connection, creativity, belonging, and personal growth. Outside of the office, she enjoys exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, creating lasting memories, and finding ways to bring a little extra joy and hospitality into everyday life.
