Chris Smallwood
Biography
Chris Smallwood fell in love with music as a young kid, but didn’t fall onto a piano bench until high school, when he broke his leg and was unable to walk for a summer. Just two years later, he was invited to Kentucky’s prestigious Governor’s School for the Arts program. In 2008, Chris received a bachelor of music from Belmont University and in 2010 earned his master of music from the University of Louisville.
In 2010 he founded Mockingbird Musicians, a music contracting service that provides the best musicians in Nashville for weddings, parties, and all manner of events.
Chris has toured internationally with Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles for over fifteen years and loves sharing his passion for The Beatles’ music with fans all over the world.
For a decade, he served as Music Director and Performer for Chef Alton Brown’s touring shows. He has also written and produced original music for Alton Brown’s shows “Good Eats: Reloaded” and “Good Eats: The Return".
Chris currently serves as an adjunct instructor of piano and collaborative pianist for musical theatre at the Belmont University School of Music. You can find him performing regularly with the Nashville Symphony, and with his Billy Joel and Elton John tribute band, The Piano Men.
