Biography

Caleb Walder, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is a practicing architect and educator whose work is grounded in a holistic approach to the design of public architecture. He has lived and worked throughout the United States and has contributed to projects on four continents.

At the acclaimed design firm Marlon Blackwell Architects, he was a designer and building performance specialist for a range of projects, including diplomatic facilities for the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations and the U.S. Pavilion exhibition at the 2025 Venice Biennale, PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity.

Caleb is also an experienced design educator. He previously served on the faculty at California Baptist University and has been a guest lecturer and design critic at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

He is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal. His work as a practitioner, educator, and scholar includes interests in building performance, housing, and design pedagogy in pursuit of architecture for human flourishing.
