Biography

Brittany Schaffer serves as the Dean of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University, a role she began in May 2023 with a vision to shape culture through entertainment education grounded in wisdom, character, and community. As leader of Belmont’s largest college, she is guiding it toward becoming the premier global destination for entertainment education—preparing leaders of character to innovate and thrive across music, film & television, publishing, sports, and media.

Under her leadership, the College has deepened its industry engagement and expanded its strategic partnerships, reinforcing its reputation as a bridge between higher education and the entertainment industry. Brittany also secured the largest philanthropic gift in Belmont’s history from Mike and Linda Curb, catalyzing the Curb College Music Row expansion—an approximately 90,000-square-foot hub in the heart of Nashville’s music industry. This landmark project positions the college to transform how entertainment can shape the world, as Nashville continues to emerge as a global creative capital.

Before joining Belmont, Brittany spent over a decade in the entertainment industry, most recently at Spotify, where she served as Head of Artist & Label Partnerships, Nashville. There, she co-led the Nashville Music Team and played a pivotal role in guiding the industry through the shift to streaming. She shaped Spotify’s strategy for the Country, Christian/Gospel, and Americana genres and cultivated partnerships with artists, labels, publishers, and agencies to help talent grow and connect with global audiences.

Brittany began her career as a music and entertainment attorney at Loeb & Loeb LLP, where she rose to Senior Legal Counsel. She advised major and emerging artists, creators, and corporations—including Fortune 500 companies—on a wide range of entertainment, IP, and media deals across music, television, digital, and branded content.

A proud Nashville advocate, Brittany’s connection to the city’s creative ecosystem began during her undergraduate years at Vanderbilt University and internships at Sony/BMG and ASCAP. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Country Music Association—where she sits on the Executive Committee—on the CMA Foundation Board—where she is Vice Chairman—and on the St. Jude Country Cares Advisory Board.

Brittany and her husband, T.J., are the proud parents of two young children who bring joy and perspective to every day.
