Angela Hagan, PhD is a Professor of Pharmaceutical, Social, and Administrative Sciences at Belmont University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. Over the past decade, she has distinguished herself as an innovative educator and leader, coordinating and teaching core courses such as Health Care Delivery, Communications and Counseling, and Ethics in Pharmacy Practice. She also developed and led international experiences for pharmacy and business students through Belmont’s International Business Study Abroad program in Spain & Portugal. Dr. Hagan has served in multiple high-impact roles on curricular revision and admissions committees and has been recognized by students for her support and mentorship, being honored as Pharmaceutical, Social & Administrative Sciences Professor of the Year (2014, 2023, 2024, 2025). Her newest role as a Student Engagement Specialist, helping to recruit the future of pharmacy, provides an opportunity to interface with the local community at area high schools and community colleges.

Her scholarship in recent years has focused on representation in pharmacy education, cultural humility, and active learning pedagogy. She has co-authored award-winning articles, including the AACP Rufus A. Lyman Award recipient for best paper in 2022, and continues to present on issues of inclusion, co-curricular innovation, and educational gaming. She has also mentored pharmacy residents to receive multiple grants to support student and community engagement research. She was involved in developing interprofessional education IMPACT week curriculum with colleagues from nursing, medicine and CPHS, while continuing to facilitate educational opportunities in The Belmont University Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation.

Beyond her academic work, Dr. Hagan has demonstrated a deep commitment to professional service and community involvement. She has served in leadership roles within the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, co-advised Phi Lambda Sigma and SNPhA chapters, and mentored countless student leaders. Locally, she engages in extensive volunteer work—from mentoring Tennessee Promise scholars to serving as a Girl Scout troop leader and faith community educator. Dr. Hagan’s career reflects a passion for equipping future pharmacists not only with professional competence but also with the vision and compassion to flourish as servant leaders.
