Student Advisory Group
Bunch Library has two Student Advisory Groups. Members of both groups are expected to attend at least two meetings during their year of service. The Student Advisory Groups will meet at least once per semester. Each meeting will last approximately one hour, and refreshments will be provided.
Students who are interested in serving on as a student advisor can complete the application during the open application period. Members are selected by the library and are notified of their appointment by the second week of class in the fall semester. Members are expected to serve at least one year, but may extend their term if they wish.
The Library’s Undergraduate Student Advisory Group is made up of 12 students
- Two undergraduate students classified as seniors
- Two undergraduate students classified as juniors
- Two undergraduate students classified as sophomores
- Two undergraduate students classified as freshmen
- Two undergraduate students from the Bridges to Belmont program
The Library’s Graduate Student Advisory Group is made up of 6 students representing a cross-section of the 14 graduate and professional programs offered on campus. At least two of these students will be doctoral students.
Bunch Library’s Student Advisory Groups were created to allow Belmont students a space where they can
- Provide feedback on library policies, resources and services
- Advise on and evaluate new policies and services
- Make recommendations for ways to advance the technological environment within the libraries
- Help the library determine how to most effectively communicate information about library services and resources to the student community
- Participate in the development of surveys and other assessment tools
- Solicit input from their peers about library policies, services, collections, and spaces
- Provide student perspectives and input on library policies, services, collections, and spaces
- Make recommendations to improve the library
- Serve on panels at library events
