Online Photo Submission
All members of our campus community must have a Belmont ID card, the official identification card for Belmont University. Your Belmont ID card provides access to essential campus services and facilities including access to your residence hall, classroom buildings, meal plan and Bruin Bucks.
Your Belmont ID card requires a photo to be included as part of your identification. Our online photo submission process allows you to submit a photo of your choice quickly and easily online.
To get started, please submit a photo following the instructions below. Once your photo is submitted, the Bruin Card Services Office will review your photo and email you with approval or next steps if your photo cannot be used.
Photo Requirements
We'll need a recent color photo with a plain, neutral background (white, off-white, cream, beige, light gray).
Your photo should display your head, including both face and hair, from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin, and from hairline side-to-side, like a driver’s license or passport. Senior/high school graduation photos are not acceptable.
Head coverings are acceptable due to religious beliefs, provided the head covering shows a full front view of the face, does not cast a shadow onto the face, and shows an overall pattern in the fabric or material (not a graphic design).
Prescription glasses may be worn for the photo; however, there should be no reflections from the eyeglasses that obscure the eyes. Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless they are needed for medical reasons.
The key requirement for your Belmont ID photo is that the photo clearly identifies the cardholder.
Tips for submitting an acceptable photo:
- Use a RECENT (within the past 6 months) color photo without any added filters or effects.
- Make sure the photo is in focus (not blurry) and centered with a full, front-facing view of your face.
- Do not include other people or objects in your photo.
- Use a neutral, plain background.
- Crop the photo from just above the top of the head to the collarbone.
- Use proper lighting and make sure there are no shadows shielding your face.
- Make sure that eyes are open and visible, looking at the camera.
- Please wear your prescription glasses if you normally do so.
- You can smile or keep your expression neutral; no inappropriate facial expressions.
-
Hats, sunglasses, or any other article obstructing the face or hair are prohibited.
- Photo should be in .jpg format (size between 300KB to 2MB).
- You can use a smart phone to take your photo, just make sure that it is saved in the correct file format (this may require you to go into your camera's settings).
