Registration of Motor Vehicles
All vehicles including automobiles, motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and bicycles operating on campus must be registered and have the proper permit displayed.
Registration is done through my.Belmont by logging in to your account and clicking on the "Bicycle and Vehicle Registration" link under the Campus Security and Safety tab on the left. Before registering online, make sure you have the following information:* Vehicle Make
* Vehicle Model
* Vehicle Year
* Vehicle Color
* License Plate Number
* Best Contact Phone Number with Area Code
Decals may be picked up at the Office of Campus Security located in the Gabhart Student Center after registering your vehicle online.
Decals must be permanently affixed to the lower left corner of the rear windshield. Parking decals must be affixed as designed and may not be taped or attached in a way that allows for easy removal.
Convertibles and other vehicles, which, by design, prohibit affixing in this manner, may display the decal on the left portion of the rear bumper.
Permits that have been altered in any way, including removing any part of the sticker, are no longer valid and vehicles are subject to being cited and fined as unregistered
Persons desiring to operate a vehicle on campus on a temporary basis are required to obtain a temporary or visitor-parking permit from the department being visited or from Campus Security.
Students whose parent or spouse is employed by the university may not display a faculty/staff parking decal on the vehicle the student normally drives to class.
Parking decals include:
A - Faculty, staff, alumni, contractors and vendors are permitted to park anywhere on campus except for reserved and/or guest parking or parking reserved for persons with disabilities. The Ayers Garage and Curb Garage are only for A permits, C permits, and visitors.
B - Belmont Commons - Belmont Commons residents are required to park in the Belmont Commons and Concert Hall/Theater lots. They may not park in the church visitor parking.
C - Commuter students are permitted to park anywhere on campus except for reserved and/or guest parking or parking reserved for persons with disabilities. The Ayers Garage and Curb Garage are only for A permits, C permits, and visitors.
D - D permits (Dickens, Horrell, Wright, and Kennedy 1st and 2nd Floor residents) are required to park in the Dickens Garage.
H - H permits (Hillside, Bruin Hills, and Maddox residents) are required to park in the Hillview/Bruin Hills surface lot area.
T - T permits (Thrailkill, Two Oaks, Potter, and Kennedy 3rd, 4th, and 5th floor residents) are required to park in the Thrailkill Garage.
W - W permits (Pembroke and Hail residents) are required to park on levels P5-P6 of the Dining and Academic Center Garage.
S - S permits (Bear House residents) are required to park on the designated lower level of the Baskin Garage.
U - U permits (Heron and Patton residents) are required to park on the designated lower levels of the Inman/McWhorter Garages.
NOTE: Residential students (B, D, H, T, W, S, & U decals) may park in surface lots on the west side of campus between 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 4:30 pm on Friday until 8:00 a.m. on Monday with the exception of the Fidelity Guest Lot reserved for guests only 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 7 days a week. Residential permits parked in surface lots after 8:00 am (7:00 a.m. for Fidelity Guest Lot) are subject to being ticketed or towed at the owner's expense.
If a student moves from one sticker type residence to another, the Office of Campus Security will replace the old sticker. However, the student is responsible for re-registering online and coming into the Office of Campus Security to obtain the correct decal.
Student workers will not be issued Faculty/Staff decals. Only employees paid from Faculty/Staff payroll are issued Faculty/Staff decals.
A parking decal does not guarantee a place to park; it is merely permission to park on campus.
