William Hale

Dr. William Hale is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology who earned his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, specializing in criminology and the sociology of health. Prior to joining Belmont’s sociology department, he worked as a statistician at Vanderbilt University’s Center for Research on Health Disparities and as a lecturer in Vanderbilt’s sociology department. Courses taught by Dr. Hale include Criminology, Criminal Justice, Deviance, Sociological Theory, and a First Year Seminar on the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville.
Outside of the university, Dr. Hale enjoys playing the drums and guitar, watching Liverpool FC, and spending time with his wife, two kids, and two dogs.
