Biography

Dr. Rob Razzante is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Belmont University, where he teaches courses in public speaking and organizational communication. He earned his Ph.D. in Communication from Arizona State University and has taught more than a dozen communication courses across various institutions including Arizona State University, The College of Wooster, Western Washington University, and California State University, Long Beach.

Rob brings a unique blend of academic expertise and industry experience to the classroom. He formerly worked as a learning and development specialist at CloudKitchens, Falck USA, and Cleveland Clinic Foundation—designing leadership training, e-learning programs, and employee-driven strategies for organizational growth. He is also the founder of Redwood Communication LLC, where he facilitates leadership training and participant-driven decision-making sessions using a method called, collective intelligence.

His training and coaching reach far beyond the U.S. Rob has worked with young professionals locally, nationally, and internationally in Jordan, Turkey, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, to name a few. He has also coached executives and IT professionals worldwide on mindful communication and leadership presence.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Rob is the fourth of six boys in his family and has more than 90 relatives on his mother’s side alone. His family and career have taken him to Arizona, California, and short stays in Texas and Arkansas. Outside the classroom, he enjoys hiking with his wife, chasing his young son around the playground, cheering on Cleveland sports teams, and traveling.

Rob’s applied research focuses on how culture and communication shape dialogue, decision-making, and inclusion in organizations. His 30+ peer-reviewed publications appear in journals such as Communication Theory, Journal of International and Intercultural Communication, and Review of Communication. Whether teaching in the classroom or consulting in the field, Rob is passionate about helping people flourish, communicate intentionally, and build thriving communities.
