Biography

Dr. PaQuita R. Pullen holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Educator and a licensed professional counselor with the mental health service designation (LPC-MHSP). She received her M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014 from Trevecca Nazarene University and her B.S. in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University in 2010. Dr. Pullen has an extensive background in clinical mental health by working in areas of addiction, suicide prevention, mood disorders, trauma/trauma related disorders and more. She remains active in her clinical work by operating a small but thriving group practice in the Middle TN area. The practice focuses on healing for populations that are often unseen, unheard and or underestimated. She loves teaching classes rooted in equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging such as Psychology of Gender and Psychology of Race. Her research interests include experiences unique to minority populations, burnout, and self-compassion. Dr. Pullen joined the faculty at Belmont University in the Fall of 2021. She thoroughly enjoys bringing a creative aspect to all of her courses! Dr. Pullen wears many hats and does many things but believes it's more important for others to know who she is than simply what she does!

Outside of the university, Dr. Pullen enjoys long naps, random dance breaks, and beach bumming!
