Biography

Julia W. Scott first joined the Department of Exercise Science at Belmont University as an Adjunct Instructor in 2024, teaching Health and Fitness Foundations. In Fall of 2025, she stepped into the role as Instructor of Exercise Science for the department.  She holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Fisheries and Mariculture from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is interested in the impact of the nutrition and diet on hormone profiles in female athletes and bodybuilders.

Scott brings over 18 years of experience in the fitness and wellness field, including personal training, group fitness instruction, yoga instruction, and university-level teaching in kinesiology and wellness. She has coached athletic teams, taught specialized courses, and worked with a wide range of clients to improve health, performance, and overall well-being. A native Texan now living in Nashville, she is passionate about combining evidence-based exercise science with hands-on coaching to help people reach their full potential.
