Biography

Dr. Jarod Parrish graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and began his pharmacy career working as a Community Pharmacist at Target Pharmacy where he quickly assumed the role of Pharmacy Manager and served as preceptor for introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences. He most recently served as Clinical Research Pharmacist for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research grant addressing health disparities for African American males at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

As Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Parrish’s specialty area is in Population Health and Hypertension. He serves as co-instructor in Therapeutics Case Studies for third year Pharmacy students. Dr. Parrish has a Pharmacy Practice site at Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN) working with the Population Health/Medication Management team where he provides chronic care management services and helps develop strategy and clinical pharmacy programs. He also teaches a Population Health elective in the fall semester. His research interest are focused on health communication in chronic conditions.

I am glad to be at Belmont University because the school provides an innovative teaching environment, as well as displaying a family-oriented academic culture that allows students and faculty to thrive in all current and future endeavors.
