Biography
Gwen Niekamp (Ph.D., Florida State University; M.F.A., Washington University in St. Louis; B.A., Vassar College) is an assistant professor of English specializing in the craft and history of creative nonfiction. Her essays have appeared in magazines such as Gulf Coast, Boulevard, Salamander, and Black Warrior Review, which awarded her the 2023 Prize in Nonfiction. Her chapbook, By Way of Buenos Aires, won the University of Indianapolis’s 2025 Prose Chapbook Prize and will be published by Etchings Press. Her current scholarly research focuses on creative writing pedagogy and the genre of the translator’s memoir.
