Biography
Ocean Way East (O.W.E.) is a Korean corporation jointly founded by Allen Sides, Founder of Ocean Way Recording, and Geo Rim, International Marketing Director of Ocean Way Recording.
O.W.E. is comprehensively engaged in the cultural content business, focused primarily on Korea and the Asia-Pacific region. Its core businesses are in the fields of sound system consulting, production, facility design through completion for audio-centered convention and exhibition halls, home theaters, movie theaters, recording studios, indoor and outdoor performance venues, and theme parks. O.W.E. collaborates with top sound design companies and equipment manufacturers in the United States and supports professional audio and sound engineering businesses including Dolby Atmos music album and video production, immersive sound production, three-dimensional audio for virtual-reality platforms, cutting-edge sound and video production, and the promotion of technological advancements in audio engineering in cooperation with industry-academic collaborations. Moreover, O.W.E. collaborates with Ocean Way Audio and Ocean Way Nashville in the United States for recording and album production with world-class musicians. Furthermore, O.W.E. works with Genie Music in Korea to organize performances and events for globally renowned musicians in Korea.
The stated mission of Ocean Way East is to empower Korean media content professionals, collaborate with international partners, and support the public good by providing co-productions and expertise to underdeveloped countries.
Geo Rim, President of Ocean Way East, was a Producing Fellow at the American Film Institute (AFI). His aim is to bring global experts in the fields of video and audio production to Korea in order to expand K-content's global reach and cultural significance worldwide.
