Biography

Erin Ryder is joining the Department of Sport Administration as a Professor of Practice. Erin holds a master’s degree in Television, Radio & Film from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies & Computer Applications from SUNY Cortland. 

Prior to joining the faculty, Erin was recognized as an award-winning executive producer, director, and marketer with over 20 years of experience in sports and entertainment. She has worked with industry leaders such as Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, NBC Olympics, National Geographic, and Nickelodeon, producing and directing docu-series, live events, and branded content that have reached millions worldwide. Her work has been recognized with two Emmy Awards, two Clio Awards, a Promax Gold, a Shorty Award, and a Cannes Lions Short List.

In 2017, Erin co-founded Pax Pictures, a female-led production company specializing in storytelling that champions underserved voices in women’s sports. She later launched The Away Team, a first-of-its-kind sports tourism company dedicated exclusively to women’s sports experiences. 

Beyond production, Erin is a passionate mentor and advocate for women in sports. She has been an active mentor to Belmont University students, providing internships and career guidance. She is also the founder of Playmakers Nashville, a membership-based organization dedicated to advancing and empowering women in the sports industry.
