Biography

Emmie Whorton is the Student Enrichment Coordinator at the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she graduated from Auburn University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After college, where she was involved in the youth ministry organization Young Life, Emmie moved to North Carolina to work at one of the organization's camp properties for one year, increasing her love for hospitality and mentorship. Following that year, combining her passion for service and management with her love for travel, she moved to Ariccia, Italy where she worked as the Program Assistant on an Auburn University study abroad program until the pandemic brought her back home.

Emmie’s interest in hospitality and the entertainment industry led her to Los Angeles, where she spent five years building a diverse career in entertainment. She began as a personal assistant to a TV personality, then transitioned to working as a junior publicist on the event PR team at a leading entertainment public relations agency, managing events such as the Tony Awards, Critics Choice Awards, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, Vanity Fair Oscar Party, and more.

As an avid lover of film, music, books, and live events, Emmie found LA to be a dynamic and inspiring place to grow, but the South was always home. Now at Belmont University, she is thrilled to help students navigate and pursue their own creative paths, blending her industry experience with her heart for mentorship and community.
