Corporate Communication

Truth. Efficiency. Professionalism.

Bring your communication skills to any work place.

  • Savannah Sellers
The Communications Department at Belmont has been a phenomenal asset to my career both in and outside of school. Though I switched to the Corporate Communication major halfway through my freshman year, I was immediately met with energetic, kind-hearted professors who invested in my goals and aspirations as a young professional. It was through one of my communications professors that I was able to land my first internship, and my ability to flourish and manage in it was made possible by the continued support of the entire department. I credit many of my career accomplishments so far to the wonderful professors and curriculum of Belmont’s Corporate Communication program.

Year after year, employers rank "Communication Skills" as one of the top qualities they seek in their employees, and one of the top qualities prospective employees lack. Corporate Communication graduates from Belmont are well-equipped to meet the needs of their future employers and be catalysts for ethical, efficient, and productive organizational environments.

The modern work place demands creative problem-solving, effective speaking and writing, digital competence and interpersonal awareness. The Corporate Communication program at Belmont University invites students to develop their ability to conduct verbal, written and visual communication with audiences inside and outside of the organization. Students can customize their career track through internships and their selection of interdisciplinary electives such as corporate social responsibility, crisis communication, marketing, and public relations.

Through case studies, hands-on projects, internships, and real-world experiences, students learn about reputation management, corporate strategy, crisis communication, organizational training, employee relations, leadership and organizational change management. The Corporate Communication major is intentionally interdisciplinary and flexible so that students can work one on one with a faculty advisor to tailor their program of study for their evolving personal and professional goals. These transferable skills enable students to pave a versatile career path.
