Center for Global Citizenship

Center for Global Citizenship (CGC) prepares students and the Nashville-area business community to make the world a better place through purpose, character and a transformational mindset. The main role of the CGC is to cultivate global mindset across the Belmont community and promote a sense of civic responsibility to the world as a whole, rather than just a local community. Global mindset is a lifelong human pursuit of openness, humility and respect for other cultures and perspectives. By expanding one’s personal horizons we become better equipped to solve world’s complex problems in a more meanigful way. Global citizens have the responsibility to adopt lifestyles and values that reflect our commitment to building a sustainable planet and demonstrate respect for the world’s cultural diversity.

To foster a global mindset and prepare individuals, organizations and communities to serve on a global scale by learning about the world and themselves.

To cultivate global leaders who recognize cultural differences to solve complex problems and who positively impact the world.

The Center for Global Citizenship’s stakeholders are Belmont University’s faculty, students, CGC Advisory Board members as well as the larger Nashville community.
