Art teacher instructing art student in class

How to Register for Classes

Students are solely held responsible for registering for courses during registration and the drop/add periods as published on the academic calendar. Registration through BannerWeb is required for all courses including seminars, private lessons, independent study, labs and internships. Registration is mandatory to receive academic credit. To find your registration day and time, please visit the registration calendar page.

Please note: The registration menu in MyBelmont is now located in the top menu bar on the portal home page.

Students Should Review the Following Guidelines for Registration:
  1. Review all course information (e.g. CRN, title, credit hours, days/times, instructor, campus and location) in BannerWeb.
  2. Verify you are attending the same courses (CRN) you are enrolled. Attendance does not constitute earning academic credit for the course.
  3. Confirm each course has “registered” listed in the status column.
  4. If you receive an approval for a class override, the student must register for the course before drop/add ends. Academic departments and the instructors cannot register students in classes.
  5. Check total registered credit hours and class schedule to verify enrollment in the course.
  6. Do not register for a course requirement that has already been satisfied.
  7. Full time enrollment for undergraduates is minimum of 12 credit hours. Graduates may refer to their academic program for minimum required hours for full time enrollment.
  8. View student account for semester charges and balance through BannerWeb. Contact Student Financial Services at 615-460-6403 or email questions.
  9. Registration in the class is required to access Canvas, Belmont University's Learning Management System. Canvas cannot be used to register for courses. You can get help with Canvas by using the Help menu on the left-hand side after logging into the system from your My Belmont portal. The Help menu generates a list of resources to help you with Canvas.
  10. Check your Belmont pop account for official notices and communications from academic and administrative offices. (For example: registration, payment due/student account and graduation)
